Association of German Sinti and Roma in Baden-Württemberg: "Moments of Reflection"

Children of Sinti and Roma families are frequently exposed to resentment and discrimination by their teachers and schoolmates.  The project “Moments of Reflection” by the Association of German Sinti and Roma in Baden-Württemberg offers workshops to inform students and teachers about antiziganism and the living conditions of Sinti and Roma.  Moreover, the project wants to strengthen the self-confidence of Sinti and Roma students.

The Federal Work Group of the RAA: "Establishing a climate of equality and respect"

The Federal Work Group of the Regional Center for Education, Integration and Democracy (RAA) leads a project dealing with all features of bigotry and hatred.  Schools, child and youth services and districts get the opportunity to undergo self-evaluation in order to improve their policy of equality and recognition.  The characteristic of the project: it does not simply help asses the various forms of bigotry and hatred but helps the participants focus on the strengthening of a culture of recognition and equality of all human beings.

The Center for a Democratic Culture (ZDK): “Strengthening Democratic Communities"  

The project “Strengthening Democratic Communities – for Human Dignity, against Extremism and Violence” of the Center for a Democratic Culture (ZDK) aims at making people aware of the dangers of the white supremacist movement.  It offers democratic alternatives to places in East Germany where extreme right-wing groups have created a climate of anxiety among the population.

Amadeu Antonio Foundation: "Antisemitism in East and West - Making History Visible" 

The Amadeu Antonio Foundation has developed a research project on local history in East and West Germany.  The aim is to confront schools, museums and communities with a not so distant past: the Holocaust and National Socialism.  The project takes place in Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt.

Work Group "New Forms of Antisemitism in the Immigration Society"

The work group “New Forms of Antisemitism in the Immigration Society” is currently working on a brochure which will present the issue as well as case studies of projects fighting new forms of antisemitism.  The participants have both a theoretical knowledge of and practical experience in the field.  As a result, the brochure will include theoretical texts, practical examples, and hands-on advice for people who are trying to deal with the problem in their own community.
